Dr Sudhir Giri - A Man with a Vision for a Better Tomorrow

Dr. Giri holds a special place among the youngest edupreneurs and has bagged a number of honors and accolades in a very short time span like “India’s real hero award 2021” and the “Excellence healthcare award 2022”. In 2021 when the world experienced a harrowing phase of the Covid pandemic, Dr Sudhir Giri a pioneer in the educational industry provided unstinting support and left no stones unturned in providing healthcare to the multitudes. Through his flagship hospital VIMS, he ensured the highest number of recoveries during the pandemic. He has established two 750 bedded hospitals in the country. During the first wave of the corona pandemic, one of the hospitals set up by Dr. Giri created a record by curing over 2000 patients, free of cost. In the second wave, it had the lowest number of deaths in the country. Apart from the pandemic, the Venkateshwara group is always working at the forefront in serving mankind.

 

Moved by the perturbing factors, like inequality in access to education, unemployment, gender bias, etc. A thoughtful man Giri decided to take the first step towards change, little did he know that these small steps could further bring about a reform in the world of education. In 1998, Dr. Sudhir Giri, Trustee and Secretary of Shree Bankey Bihari Educational and Welfare Trust, amalgamated his academic excellence and entrepreneurial skills and founded the Venkateshwara Group of Institutions (VGI). He began his journey with the motto: “Affordable Education and Healthcare for all” Dr. Giri, the founder of Venkateshwara Group; India’s leading education brand, soon became a legendary name in the education fraternity. Over two dozen educational institutions, universities, and medical colleges have been set up under his guidance.

From primary to higher education, the Venkateshwara Group has been serving the nation boundlessly. In the field of primary education, “Venkateshwara World School” works with the aspiration to provide an enjoyable and elevating educational experience to underprivileged children. It focuses on inspiring young minds to realize their full potential. The school emphasizes on academic excellence and the overall development of children by offering a fine blend of curricular and co-curricular activities. Talking about the higher education domain, Shri Venkateshwara University, Venkateshwara Group of Institutions, and Venkateshwara Open University offer various courses. These institutions annually provide access to quality education to more than 40,000 underprivileged children. Dr Giri has been a part of numerous initiatives taken to promote sustainable living and agricultural welfare and rural transformation, he constantly works to enrich the lives of sidelined communities, and helps in providing options that enhance the livelihood opportunities for the rural classes. A major initiative under the rural transformation program is Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by providing knowledge of academic institutions to help build a strong infrastructure of an advancing nation.

Dr. Sudhir Giri has adopted 10 villages under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Today, the program supports more than 60,500 families through more than 550 vibrant village associations (VAs). Dr. Giri is also venturing into new domains apart from education. Astrobharatam is a new App that has been launched by him to help hundreds of authentic astrologers come together under one platform. This initiative is aimed to make astrological guidance available to the masses from all around the globe.
